RetroProtection was first launched back in 2011. I was looking for a way to protect my NES games and only found one person in the world that was selling protectors, and they were over on eBay. I then purchased a 50 pack, but they ended up never arriving! The seller closed up shop shortly after I bought them and thus there was no where else to get them. I thought it was a really great idea and since no one else was doing it, I started researching how I could produce them myself and thus the rest is history.
We initially started with NES box protectors and once those started selling and the positive feedback came in from eBay customers, we then moved into Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64; later the Game Boy and so forth. Today, we have well over 425 unique sizes and are continually adding more all the time.
It’s pretty crazy to think that if that eBay seller would have sent the ones I purchased, RetroProtection would likely not exist. I wouldn’t think of copying anybody else’s business idea, but since no one else was doing it; I decided to move forward with giving it a try.
